NILI STEIN

Nili Stein is an Israeli abstract artist living and working in Tel Aviv.

Her paintings explore what she calls “the topography of the soul” - inner landscapes shaped by memory, emotion, movement, time and transformation.

Working intuitively through layers of paint, erasure, gesture and discovery, Stein creates surfaces that hover between landscape and abstraction. Traces of water, vegetation, horizons and pathways emerge and disappear, becoming maps of an interior world rather than depictions of physical places.

After more than two decades working as an economist, Stein turned increasingly toward painting as a way of exploring what cannot be measured in numbers. Her wider world - music, long-distance running, travel and entrepreneurship - enters the studio through rhythm, structure, movement and the tension between control and release.
